Steve Schmalz for mukilteo Mayor

Mukilteo is beautiful place to live with sweeping view of the Olympic and Cascades overlooking Possession Sound and as Mayor, I want to make Mukilteo even a better place to live.

My top priorities as Mayor will be public safety, fixing the deficit-riddled budget, building the community by working with residential neighborhoods together to solve their issues, and start to develop Mukilteo's waterfront.

The number one priority is making sure the Police and Fire Departments have the adequate resources to keep sure Mukilteo residents and businesses are safe.  Also, building more sidewalks and implementing more traffic calming on residential streets t will help give safe passage through Mukilteo.

The other top priority is getting the city back on solid financial footing.  We cannot continue with these record deficits.  Mukilteo needs new leadership to put the city back on a pathway to good financial health by fixing our current budget and presenting a true balanced budget where projected revenues equal projected expenditures.

As a current 12-year city council member, Mukilteo needs leadership that needs to be more responsive and accountable to our residents.  Our residents are the backbone of our community, and too many times they are being ignored. As Mayor, I will continue to work alongside our residents to solve their issues and ensure that their concerns are heard and acted upon.

I look forward over the next several months, meeting voters and making the case that we need a change in leadership in Mukilteo.  I hope you will consider voting for me on November 4th.
